A very basic whole grain bread recipe
Ingredients
- 400 grams Whole grain wheat flour
- 100 grams Whole grain rye flour
- 10 grams instant yeast
- 8 grams salt (or better use bakers salt which contains a lot more iodine)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 350 ml water
Preparation
- Mix all ingredients into a dough (5 minutes or so).
- Let rise for about 40 minutes (it should have doubled in size).
- Prepare a 1,5 liter bread loaf pan: coat the inside with a good layer of butter.
- Shape the dough and place it in the pan.
- Let rise for another 40 minutes.
Baking
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celcius (390/400 Fahrenheit).
- Bake the bread in 40 minutes.
- Take the bread out of the pan and place on an open grille to let cool.
