Bread 1

A very basic whole grain bread recipe

Ingredients

  • 400 grams Whole grain wheat flour
  • 100 grams Whole grain rye flour
  • 10 grams instant yeast
  • 8 grams salt (or better use bakers salt which contains a lot more iodine)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 350 ml water

Preparation

  • Mix all ingredients into a dough (5 minutes or so).
  • Let rise for about 40 minutes (it should have doubled in size).
  • Prepare a 1,5 liter bread loaf pan: coat the inside with a good layer of butter.
  • Shape the dough and place it in the pan.
  • Let rise for another 40 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celcius (390/400 Fahrenheit).
  • Bake the bread in 40 minutes.
  • Take the bread out of the pan and place on an open grille to let cool.
